Two hands, one kitchen, and a recipe box.
How a home baker's Sunday hobby turned into custom cookies for the whole calendar.
It started with Bernadette's recipe box.
Long before it had a name, La Recette de Bernadette was just Sunday afternoons in Bernadette's kitchen — sugar cookies rolled out on the counter, a well-worn card of measurements only she could read by heart, and a daughter, Maria, watching closely enough to learn every step.
Maria took that recipe and turned it into something more: a small home bakery specializing in hand-iced cookies for absolutely any occasion — a Tuesday coffee break, a wedding table, or anything in between. Bernadette still bakes every batch from scratch. Maria still designs and hand-pipes every single cookie herself.
In between orders, the family grew. After a short, sweet break to welcome the newest member — baby Brian — the kitchen is back in full swing. Same recipe, same two sets of hands, just made with even more love this time.
Made with even more love this time.
After a little (sweet) break to welcome our newest family member, baby Brian, La Recette de Bernadette is back in the kitchen — with the same care, the same recipe, and a little extra motivation to make every order count.
Thank you to everyone who kept ordering, kept messaging and kept being patient while we made room in our lives for the newest taste-tester in the family. He hasn't tried a cookie yet, but he approves of the smell.
Three things that never change.
Handmade, always
No printers, no shortcuts. If it has icing on it, someone in our kitchen piped it by hand.
Designed around you
Your colors, your theme, your Pinterest board — every design starts with a conversation, not a template.
From scratch, every batch
Real butter, real vanilla, and Bernadette's original dough recipe in every single order we bake.
